Swimming sports is an inter house competition held at the Trust House Recreation Center. In addition to the regular swimming events, there are also inter house competitions which include, dive bombing and students v staff.
Sports Day is a event in which all students take part in competitive sporting activities, often with the aim of winning the activity. There are also points awarded for participation and for coming second or third in an event.
Our annual retreat is usually held before school starts at the beginning of Term 1. The retreat is a coming together and preparation of the final school year. There are a number of activities at the retreat and they are not only spiritual but they are also team building. All the activities are aimed at bringing together the year group and the school leaders.
The Commissioning Mass is at the beginning of the year and is held at the parish church. The priest invites all the school leaders, both staff and students, to celebrate the privilege of being part of our catholic community. The mass is aimed at focusing on how important it is to be a leader in the catholic church and how we are servants of God.
The term one trip to the Abel Tasman is designed to expose students to the beautiful Abel Tasman and its surrounds. The PE trip not only allows students to explore a different part of the country but also allows students to gain college credit in the physical education field. Activities include, Kayaking, tramping, abseiling and many other outdoor activities.
The winter event is a real dirty affair and students are encouraged to finish as quickly as possible or they will get really cold. The course varies from year to year but it always involves tackling the stream and a few mud pits on the way. Year 7 students who fancy a challenge can compete with Year 13.
