Chanel College Stream

Chanel College has a stream that runs along the back of both of its fields. In sections there are also native plants along its bank. In this stream are eels and watercress, both of which are harvested and used by groups both inside and outside of the school community. Unfortunately, litter blows into the stream as does debris from trees so the stream can sometimes get blocked. This can cause overflow of water which ends up flooding the banks of the stream. So during the year students from various classes take the time to keep the stream clean. This is part of their special character and shows that they are looking after their environment.
